Patience, Progress, Peace.

Living in this technology age has prompted new pathways to emotional distress. Although working through these heavy emotions is nothing new, it is natural for lifestyle changes such as a new partner, a new child or a new career to provoke new emotions. Any kind of change at any age is worth reflecting on and addressing.

Whatever the circumstances, and regardless of your background, therapy can provide a sense of relief, answers and comfort to anyone! In a judgment-free, confidential environment, we can talk through all kinds of struggles together, where we will always be there to remind you that you are not alone.

We promise to help inform, educate and, of course, listen so that you can emerge with tools to feel stronger and healthier.

Areas of Focus.

  • Anxiety/Depression

Feeling persistently stressed or overwhelmed can easily be written off as normal parts of your hectic life. Using therapy to better understand these feelings and accompanying thoughts will give you the skills you need to regain control.

  • Life Transitions

Life changes all the time, in all kinds of ways. Certain changes like deaths, break-ups or even things that "should" be exciting and happy (like having a baby or moving to a new place) can prove a challenge for anyone. Therapy can be helpful in working through the difficulties of accepting/adapting and thriving through periods of change.

  • ADHD/Autism Spectrum Disorder

Realizing your brain seems to work differently than others can bring about some big feelings, both scary and hopeful. Therapy can be helpful to understand, appreciate and adapt to the special ways your brain functions. Being neuro-diverse doesn't mean that your brain is a mystery, you just have to get to know it!

  • Trauma

Whether experienced in the past as a child or more recently as an adult, traumatic events can take time for you to be ready to process. It’s perfectly normal to have feelings of fear and sadness that are ambiguously related to a traumatic event. We will work to pinpoint any traumatic triggers, and process through the underlying emotions associated with them.

Methods.

Individualized treatment is at the core of our practice. However, we typically draw on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MSBR), and other modalities within the “Third Wave” of behavioral therapies to guide treatment plans. This means we emphasize self-awareness, acceptance, and compassion as a central tools in emotional growth.

We also have associates trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which has been a successful intervention for several issues, including PTSD.

These may sound like a lot of big words and acronyms- and they are! The goal is to make the therapy process make sense to you. Therefore, a therapy session with any member of our team will be an open and honest discussion. We may ask questions, make reflections, explain different approaches, and will always talk you through the ‘why.’

We want everyone to better understand how their brains, emotions, and thoughts work.
